Rick Taintor, President, has more than 25 years of planning and
community development experience, including ten years in municipal
government. As a consultant, Rick has focused on comprehensive and
strategic planning, corridor management, land use regulation, affordable
housing strategies, and development impact analysis.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Rick served as Planning Director for Framingham, Massachusetts. He was responsible for coordinating municipal planning and community development activities during a period of rapid residential and commercial growth. In addition to land use planning and development review activities, his duties included managing housing rehabilitation programs; downtown revitalization planning; development and operation of the Town’s local bus system; and financing and management of several public works projects in support of economic development. Rick Taintor has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Maine. A member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, he has served as an officer of the Massachusetts Association of Planning Directors, the Massachusetts Association of Consulting Planners, and the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association. His community service work has included serving as chair of a municipal Zoning Board of Appeals, and as a member of the board of a regional anti-poverty agency. Rick is currently serving as a member of the Newburyport Redevelopment Authority.
Juliet T. Hansel Walker, Senior Associate, is experienced in regional strategic
planning, cultural resource and conservation management, and GIS analysis.
She previously worked as a Community Planner with the Blackstone River
Valley National Heritage Corridor, a unit of the National Park Service
spanning 24 communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.A native of New Hampshire, Juliet has a Masters of Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Juliet is a member of the YWCA Greater Newburyport Board of Directors.
Sue L. Brown, Associate, has six years of planning and community space
development experience and is a landscape architect registered in the states of Massachusetts
and Connecticut. Before joining Taintor and Associates in 2007, Sue worked for the
Boston Parks Department. In this capacity Sue represented the City of Boston on
landscape development issues related to parks and public spaces of the
Central Artery/Tunnel Project.A Maine native, Sue earned her Masters in Landscape Architect from University of Massachusetts, Amherst and her undergraduate degree from the University of Maine, Presque Isle.
